Message from the Headteacher

Dear Parent and Carer

I hope that this new website gives you a useful overview of Grove Park School. The website will evolve and more information will become available in the new academic year. Please feel free to contact the school if you have any additional questions at office@grove-park.e-sussex.sch.uk or on 01892 663 018.

If your child is due to start with us, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our school.

Grove Park is an East Sussex County Council Maintained Special School for approximately 155 children aged 4-19 with a range of complex learning needs including moderate, severe, or profound and multiple learning difficulties.  Some of our pupils have additional physical and/or sensory impairment, including autism.

All of our children have an ‘Education, Health and Care Plan’ delivered through their priority needs and curriculum-based targets. We promote independence and aspire to challenge our students so they can be the best they can be.

Staff are trained in meeting a range of needs, and the school benefits from the regular support of Speech and Language, Physiotherapist Occupational Therapists provided by the Children’s Integrated Therapy and equipment Service (CITEs) within Kent NHS and commissioned by the local authority.  The School benefits from the expertise of a Special Schools Nursing Sister from
East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust who supports the health and wellbeing of our students.

The School is split over three campuses, Primary at Church Road, Secondary at Beeches and Secondary/Post 16 at Green Lane co-located on the Beacon Academy sites less than a mile away from our Primary campus.
