Assessment

The School is moving to use a new system for recording attainment and measuring progress using the ‘Evidence for Learning’ framework.  This enables the setting of targets across the curriculum.

The system contains the descriptors, which enable us to assess over time and to report to parents. This runs in tandem with the pupil’s IEP geared to the outcomes on their EHCP.

Regular review of these targets alongside curriculum progress data ensures a holistic profile of each pupil is maintained.  Analysis of outcome data from ’Evidence for Learning’ informs the focus for improvement.

Assessment for Learning (AfL)

AfL is a continuous process by which teachers use a range of strategies to enable them to challenge and progress learning during lessons.  This ensures that prior learning is built upon and progresses logically and sequentially through a pupil’s career at school.
